The Oratory
About Us
The Oratory is a program in world spirituality that aims both to educate and transform. It is also a new monastic community and a team ministry.
As a program in world spirituality, we explore the full diversity of traditions and practices from around the world. The goals of the program include:
-
understanding the great variety of spiritualities,
-
discovering new and resonating themes,
-
identifying common threads,
-
an awareness of our methods in pursuing this study,
-
opening the heart as well as the mind to perspectives very different from our own, and
-
personal and social transformation in a manner that helps establish peace, equity and sustain the Earth, our only home.
As a spiritual community, members present the Oratory programs. We are a lay community leading lives in the world and offering a diversity of spiritual programs to those interested. Oratory members pursue their spiritual lives in a more intentional manner, living in distributed community, and contributing their time and talent in some form of leadership in Oratory programs, online or in-person.
Help support our offerings by becoming a Friend of the Oratory. Friends help sustain our world spirituality programs and may join any of the online spirituality programs for free.
