Modern Mystics

On the first Sundays each month beginning February 5, at 7:00 pm, explore the lives of modern mystics, who, despite the materialism and skepticism of our times, lived inspiring spiritual lives. They were not lives spent in ancient Rome or Alexandria, in Florence, Italy, or Paris, France, but in New York City, Denver, South India, Berlin, Cincinatti, El Salvador, Holland, London, modern-day Rome, Wisconson, and Berkeley, California. They lived amidst the wars, genocide, discrimination, scientific discoveries, technical developments, and space exploration of the 20th century.  

We will meet on Zoom for eleven sessions to explore the lives and lessons of eleven modern day mystics:

February 5: Dorothy Day 

March 5: Thich Nhat Hanh 

April 2: Ben Salmon 

May 7: Bede Griffiths 

June 4: Abraham Heschel 

July 2: Oscar Romero 

August 6: Etty Hillesum 

September 3: Caryll Houselander

October 1: John XIII

November 5: Thea Bowman

December 3: Eknath Easwaren

PLEASE NOTE: Tuition amount is flexible. The suggested donation is $50 for the eight sessions. If this is not affordable (or you wish to offer more to support others who may wish to attend but do not have the funds), you can can donate any amount over $9 . Alternatively, you can become a member of Halcyon Arts and join any of our online groups for free.
