Spiritual Journeys

Stories can awaken insight, enlighten mind and quicken spirit. We will read biographies, novels, fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, fantasy, wonder tales and memoires. The books we read are meant to engage the head and the heart, awaken wonder and personal transformation.

On the Third Sundays each month beginning January 15, at 7:00 pm, we will take up the discussion of a book each month. The books and session dates are as follows (please have the books read for these sessions):  

January 15: The Old Man and the Sea, by Ernest Hemingway 

February 19: Demian, by Hermann Hesse 

March 19: Lakota Woman, by Mary Crow Dog

April 16: Man's Search for Meaning, by Viktor E. Frankl

May 21:  Working Class Mystic: A Spiritual Biography of George Harrison, by Gary Tillery

June 18: Maya of the New World, by Sita Bennett

July 16: Eye of the Heart: A Spiritual Journey into the Imaginal Realm, by Cynthia Bourgeault 

August 20: The Sacred Journey: A Memoir of Early Days, by Frederick Buechner

PLEASE NOTE: Tuition amount is flexible. The suggested donation is $50 for the eight sessions. If this is not affordable (or you wish to offer more to support others who may wish to attend but do not have the funds), you can can donate any amount over $9 . Alternatively, you can become a member of Halcyon Arts and join any of our online groups for free.
