Halcyon Arts presents a duo concert featuring Vermont-based singer/songwriter Elizabeth Rogers and cellist Eugene Friesen. The pair bring their soulful collaboration to a repertoire of original compositions and Celtic ballads. The combination of Rogers' voice - aptly described as "pure silver" - and Friesen's innovative cello creates music that is at once mesmerizing and heart-opening.

Born and rased in Manhattan, Elizabeth Rogers now hails from the wilds of southern Vermont.  She sings original and traditional music that tells the stories of the large and small themes that run through life. Her voice has been compared to Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell; her music has been described as “transformational folk." 

Cellist Eugene Friesen has performed on six continents playing his own blend of original and improvisational music. Friesen has received four Grammy Awards as a member of the Paul Winter Consort and is on the faculty of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. His book, “Improvisation for Classical Musicians” was published in 2012 by Hal Leonard/Berklee Press.
