Spiritual Texts
Exploring World Spirituality

Nine Sessions, the First Sunday each month
beginning October 2 at 7:00 pm
with Robert Bowler
Picture
On the first Sundays  each month beginning October 2,  we will take up the study of a spiritual text from a world tradition. Texts may take the form of scripture, poetry, prayers, aphorisms, or teaching stories.

Using Socratic dialogue, we will unravel hidden meanings and new understandings. We will share personal insights and experiences. Always, our discussions will be respectful, opening our minds and hearts to each other and perennial truths at the heart of the world's spiritual traditions.

Each month, we will travel ancient but ever new terrain, paths long forgotten or dimly remembered, faraway lands and ever-new truths. Like archeologists, we will uncover new insights, inspiration for our personal journeys.

We will meet on Zoom at 7:00 pm the first Sunday of each month (except January 1, 2023).

October 2: The Tao Te Ching
November 6: The Dhammapada
December 4: The Sermon on the Mount
January 1:  No Meeting
February 5: The Way of the Sufi, by Idries Shah
March 5: Celtic Wisdom
April 2: The Aphorisms of Patanjali
May 7: Kabir: Ecstatic Poems
June 4: The Essential Rumi
July 2: The Bhagavad Gita
